Music Concert

at the High School Auditorium

All Family & Friends are invited!

Students are encouraged to wear appropriate pajamas as their concert attire.

All students will return to the school on the bus to finish their school day.

Fundraiser Pick-up

Just a reminder that pick-up of all fundraiser items will be on Thursday, December 13, from 3:00-5:30 PM. Items will be located in the lobby. All items must be picked up on Thursday as we do not have space to store them at school.

Reading and Language Arts

Our second theme in our new reading series is Community Heroes. During this theme, we will be working on long vowel sounds and fluency.  We will also spend several weeks reviewing two writing skills:  writing a friendly letter and procedural directions.  Ask your students about the parts of the story as they read independently to reinforce those skills.  

Math

We have completed 4 Topics in Math and have begun Topic 5 on Money.  Any opportunity you get to have students count out or count back change please practice this important life skill at home!  Also, continue to practice those basic math facts at home!  The website at the bottom of this page is a great resource for worksheets and flashcards. 

  

Science

2^nd graders have begun a unit on Earth’s Materials:  rocks, soil, matter, solids, liquids and gases.  They will use the Scientific Process to complete a lab on different types of soil.
